JA IT’S MY BUSINESS® - FALL 2023

Program and Description: JA It's My Business! provides students an opportunity to learn how to turn an idea into a business. The program introduces students to the process of design thinking as a problem-solving process and provides an authentic entrepreneurial experience for students, with each session building toward a product-pitch competition.

  • Time Commitment: One hour per week for Six-week program with a culminating pitch competition.

  • Training: Attend a JA Program Training where you'll receive materials and training prior to class.

  • Start Date: September 15th

  • Volunteer need: 1 or 2 in-person volunteers per class.

  • Days and Times:

    • A-1 Wednesday 9:05 AM-10:35 AM - volunteer assigned

    • A-4 Wednesday 3:05 PM-4:35 PM - volunteer assigned

    • B-5 Thursday 1:30 PM-3:00 PM - volunteer assigned

    • B-7 Thursday 3:05 PM-4:35 PM - volunteer assigned

JA COMPANY PROGRAM® - Spring 2024

Program and Description: JA Company Program empowers high school students to fill a need or solve a problem in their community and teaches them practical skills required to conceptualize, capitalize, and manage their own business venture. Community volunteers and mentors provide real-world guidance and experience to the student-led startup.

  • Duration: Each class is one hour long. Spring Semester

  • Start Date: Spring semester 2024

  • Volunteer need: 1-2 in-person volunteers per class. Spanish Speakers are a plus!

  • Days and Times:

    • A-1 Wednesday 9:05 AM-10:35 AM

    • A-4 Wednesday 3:05 PM-4:35 PM

    • B-5 Thursday 1:30 PM-3:00 PM

    • B-7 Thursday 3:05 PM-4:35 PM
