JA Company Program® 

JA Company Program unlocks the innate ability in high school students to fill a need or solve a problem in their community by launching a business venture and unleashing their entrepreneurial spirit. The program focuses on Company Ops, the majority of meeting time, where students build and manage their business. Meeting-specific, student-friendly materials and resources increase student interaction and emphasize JA’s experiential approach to learning. JA Company Advisors guide students through building and running their business. 

  • Time Commitment: Meeting with your company once a week for 13 weeks

  • Training: Attend a JA Program Training where you'll receive materials and training prior to class.

  • Classes Start: September

    • 9:05-10:35

JA It's My Business!® 

JA It's My Business provides students an opportunity to learn how to turn an idea into a business. The program introduces students to the process of design thinking as a problem- solving process and provides an authentic entrepreneurial experience for students with each session building toward a product-pitch competition. Volunteers help guide students through a business startup from its ideation, innovation, and market research through its design and prototyping.

  • Time Commitment: Meeting with your class once a week for 6 weeks

  • Training: Attend a JA Program Training where you'll receive materials and training prior to class.

  • Classes Start: October

  • Class Times:

    • 2:42-4:20

JA Launch Lesson® 

JA Launch Lesson™ is a point-of-entry program delivered by community entrepreneurs. Students gain firsthand knowledge about starting a business and the entrepreneurial journey. During the one hour visit, a local entrepreneur will share what inspired them to start their own business as well as provide an overview of their professional journey. The purpose of a JA Launch Lesson is to engage students in an inspirational experience that explores entrepreneurship and highlights the opportunities, challenges and preparation required for success.

  • Time Commitment: One, 1 hour visit to the school to deliver your JA Launch Lesson.

  • Training: Not Required- work with JA to understand the purpose and perfect your presentation
