JA Company Program builds confidence at Travis Early College High School

Wow, what a year! Congratulations to all the young people at Travis that believed in themselves and took on this task to start and run a REAL business with the JA Company Program (JACoPro).

Students saw a need for more snack options and two companies were born in two of the classes. When the CEOs of Vending Co. were asked, “Did you have any competition?” They replied, “Yes, so we decided to bundle and offer different options.” They learned that sales is hard and hard to find the right person to hustle but they did!

CEO of Sweet Memory candy company, sold Korean candies that she had memories, as a young child, enjoying. Students loved having this option and this quiet student turned into a fierce sales woman.

The transformation of students in JA Company Program is, “magical,” Travis educator, Debra McClure said of her classroom JA experiences.

Thank you to our dedicated JACoPro mentors,

Edgar U Jimenez Gonzalez, Daniel Smith, and Alyssa Dahlgren!
