JA be entrepreneurial® With Special Projects - Fall 2023/Spring 2024
Program and Description: JA Be Entrepreneurial is used in conjunction with the Austin Independent School District’s requirements for the Special Projects class. Mentors work with the students all year to ideate, research, and present their projects around addressing a local need that is important to them. These Senior students in the Special Projects class use the tools of JABE entrepreneurship lessons to help transform their ideas into concise, effective, and actionable solutions to local issues in their culminating presentation event in April 2023.
Duration: One hour weekly from September 2023 - April 2024

Volunteer need: 4-8 virtual and/or In-Person volunteers. Spanish Speakers are a plus!
Volunteers will lead six-ten JA Be Entrepreneurial lessons and Mentor the students through their special projects. Will be 45 -60 minute, sessions delivered weekly to a class of senior high school students. This is a highly impactful program for both students and mentors. By April you and the students will have such strong connections. It truly is an opportunity to make a life long impact in these young people lives and our community.
This has been successful as a team to alternate days between volunteers. One or two people for JA delivering the JA lesson then all to offer ideally a 1:1 mentorship for their special projects. 8 students are in the class.
JA IT’S MY BUSINESS® - FALL 2023
Program and Description: JA It's My Business! provides students an opportunity to learn how to turn an idea into a business. The program introduces students to the process of design thinking as a problem-solving process and provides an authentic entrepreneurial experience for students, with each session building toward a product-pitch competition.
Duration: One hour weekly for six weeks.

JA Company Program® - Spring 2024
Program and Description: JA Company Program empowers high school students to fill a need or solve a problem in their community and teaches them practical skills required to conceptualize, capitalize, and manage their own business venture. Community volunteers and mentors provide real-world guidance and experience to the student-led startup.
Duration: One hour weekly, 12 weeks
Start Date: Spring semester 2024
